Step 1
When the unit is in direct sun, is the charging light blinking green?
No = bad panels or other electric component
Yes = Go to Step 2
Step 2
Remove the unit from the pool and turn the switch to the on position.
Step 3
Is the status light a solid red?
Yes = There is an issue with a motor go to step 8
No = go to step 4
Step 4
Completely cover one solar panel with something nontransparent like cardboard.
Is the charge light still blinking green?
No= Uncovered panel is bad.
Yes = Go to step 5
Step 5
Remove the cover from the first panel tested and completely cover the other solar panel.
Is the charge light still blinking green?
no = bad panel
yes = Go to step 6
Step 6
Turn the unit off and set the unit upright in direct sunlight to drain and charge for 2 hours. The unit will stand upright when the side where the switch is down.
Please make sure it is secure and will not be knocked over by wind or pets by placing it against something stable for support.
Step 7
Place the unit in the pool with the switch in the on position. Is it running?
No = possible electrical issue
Step 8
Does the unit turn off or go into hunt for sun mode (all 3 lights on the control panel blinking) when the sun goes down or with in a couple hours of full dark?
Yes = You need a battery
No = Go to step 9
Step 9
Are both paddle wheels turning?
Yes = motors are working
No = go to step 10
Step 10
Are the front bumper wheels turning smoothly with no noise?
Yes = The unit is functioning
No = There is an issue with the gear platforms.
